RadMax™ Engine Description
  • Cylindrical rotor with integrated drive shaft
  • Axial vanes move sinusoidally
  • Cams on each end of the rotor guide the axial vanes
  • Major moving parts: rotor and 12 axial vanes
  • Symmetric design forms 24 combustion chambers



RadMax™ implementation of Otto 4-cycle engine: On the right is a schematic diagram of the rotor "unwrapped" illustrating the 24 power strokes every revolution, 12 on upper side of rotor, and 12 on lower side of rotor.

  • Integrated Sleeves and Rotor to eliminate leak paths
  • Surveyed similar COTS engines to derive seal technology

  • Eliminated all corners and edges to facilitate seal technology
